Emerson Royal’s EU passport is making him a more attractive target for AC Milan than others, as the Italian side can add the Tottenham man without any complications.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say that the Serie A side are considering a move for the Brazilian and his EU passport makes him a better target.
They explain that the Tottenham full-back has long been of interest to the Rossoneri, with them targeting him under the previous management of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.
He joined Tottenham in 2021 and he’s been a regular since but now finds himself behind Pedro Porro in the pecking order and that’s got Milan thinking of a deal once again.
The key for them is that Emerson Royal has a Spanish passport after coming through at Barcelona and that means he wouldn’t take up a non-EU citizen spot in the squad. Thus, they could use that spot for someone else and still strengthen.
Milan are yet to make a firm move for the Tottenham man they want to gauge the opinion of their new manager first, but the interest is there, and the EU passport makes him more attractive than other potential options.
