Tottenham are one of the sides keen on singing Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson, who could cost as much as €30m.
That’s according to Aksam Spor, who say there are a number of clubs interested in the player but ‘especially Tottenham’.
They explain that the Turkish side are currently sitting at the table with the Danish defender, who is being followed by European teams.
The club are focused on locking down their star defender after a busy summer in which they added several big-name players to their squad.
Negotiations are underway with Nelsson to extend his deal, who they know is being targeted by several sides but ‘especially Tottenham and Sevilla’, who showed an interest during the summer transfer window.
They’re planning another wage iancrease for the defender saw a rise from €900,000 to €1.3m last year, as well as €5m increase in his release clause to €30m.
Whether that’s a figure Tottenham would be willing to pay isn’t mentioned although it seems unlikely given their spend on Micky van de Ven and the previous big deal for Cristian Romero too.
Nelsson could perhaps be a target if Eric Dier departs, with him having fallen out of favour under Ange Postecoglou and been linked with a move away as a result.
That’s yet to happen, but Nelsson could be a name worth keeping an eye on if it does at some point in the January transfer window.
