Paris Saint-Germain forward and World Cup winner Ousmane Dembele has admitted he watches all of the leagues in Europe, particularly the Championship and Sunderland.
The winger has been speaking to Le Parisien, relayed by SO FOOT, about his love for football and his particular focus on the Championship side.
The Frenchman has been with PSG since a €50m move from Barcelona in August last year, sealing a return to his homeland following his early career at Rennes.
The focus is very much on getting back to his best after an injury hit few years in Catalunya, where he was never really able to fulfil the promise, he had shown at Borussia Dortmund and even Rennes.
Much has been written about the 26-year-old, in particular his love for video games, and Le Parisien add to that, admitting he is a big fan of Football Manager, a popular managerial simulation game.
And it seems the love for that game has led him to watching football all over the world, including in the Championship, where Sunderland are in focus thanks to a personal relationship.
“I watch practically all the championships: France, Spain, Italy, England, Germany,” he said.
“Even the English D2, especially Sunderland because I know the owner, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus. There, I saw almost all the CAN matches. There are days, I attack the English championship at 1 p.m., and at 9 p.m., I switch to Spain.”
