Manchester United are one of the clubs to have shown interest in RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo, according to Friday’s edition of AS.
The attacking midfielder impressed for Spain, who won the Euro 2024 earlier month, and this has seen him attract interest from several clubs, ‘especially Manchester United’.
Olmo is happy at the Bundesliga side, but his future there remains uncertain. He’s looking for an ambitious sporting project and will prioritise this over other factors.
The Spain international has a €60m release clause valid until July 20th, after which the interested parties have to negotiate a deal with the German club.
Leipzig haven’t closed the door on the 26-year-old’s exit, but the report warns interested parties that they are tough negotiators.
Manchester United have already signed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. AS now claim they have ‘entered the scene with force’ to try and sign the Spain international.
It’s claimed Olmo fits into what the Red Devils, under the ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are looking for in the market. He can be deployed as an attacking midfielder and on both wings, but these positions are currently well covered at Old Trafford.
AS insist Erik ten Hag’s side are keen on Olmo, but it may well be possible that they are being used to try and put pressure on other interested parties.
