Finally, some news from Holland about Erik ten Hag to Tottenham, but it’s not the one Spurs fans will have wanted to hear.

The Ajax manager was touted as being among the favourites to replace José Mourinho at the London club, as a meeting with the Premier League side was being reported to take place soon, but it seems he won’t be going anywhere.

That’s because the Eredivisie side announced on Friday that the 51-year-old had extended his contract by another two years, keeping him in Holland until 2023.

Telegraaf explain that while he has been ‘indirectly associated’ with Spurs, the renewal comes at a moment that ‘makes sense’.

After all, the manager has guided Ajax to two doubles in 2019 and 2021, and reached both the semi-finals of the Champions League and the quarter finals of the Europa League.

It could all just be a ploy to get more money from his initial departure, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Onto the next one for Tottenham, then.
