On Wednesday, Deportes COPE Valencia reported Aston Villa have initiated contact to sign Levante UD’s Marc Pubill.
Cope have relayed this and add the Villans’ offer for the 20-year-old could be a ‘good part of the solution’ for the La Liga side’s financial problems.
It’s said Aston Villa sporting director Monchi has made contact with his Levante counterpart, Felipe Miñambres.
As it stands, Aston Villa haven’t made a proposal to the La Liga side and didn’t go beyond the first contact for the right-back.
The report states the Spaniard’s entourage ‘trust’ that the Premier League side will take the ‘final step and make a formal offer’ of over €5m to secure his services. Levante also want to obtain a percentage of the fee from his future sale.
Over at Super Deporte, they state UD Almería are interested in Pubill and already sent a €4m offer to Levante. The report also mentions Aston Villa’s pursuit to sign him.
After relaying Cope’s claim about the English club contacting Levante, Super Deporte say the Villans have ‘already transferred’ the economic proposal to the player. The report adds they will make an offer to Pubill’s employer in the ‘next few hours’.
The player has several suitors and the outlet states ‘next few days will be key’ to know if he will continue at Levante or move elsewhere.
