Napoli’s interest in Kieran Trippier, very prevalent a month or so ago, appeared to die down a bit in recent weeks after the player stated he would prefer to stay in England.

However, Radio Marte, relayed by Area Napoli, on Wednesday claim the Serie A side haven’t given up on the England international, as they contacted the right-back’s entourage to find out more.

The outlet explained those close to Trippier confirmed Napoli were still after the Tottenham player, and that Daniel Levy had already made a decision about his asset’s future.

According to the entourage, the Spurs chairman will not accept offers from Manchester United, who are after a right-back this summer, clearly trying to avoid strengthening a potential top four rival ahead of the coming season.

Radio Marte also reiterate that Trippier’s wife has visited Naples to have a look around, which was already reported a while back.

The 28-year-old defender made 38 appearances last season under Mauricio Pochettino, helping his side reach the Champions League final, where they ultimately lost 2-0 to Liverpool.
