Djurgårdens IF goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström has told the Swedish media it would be a dream to play in England.
The 26-year-old looks close to signing for Derby County after reports he’s set for a medical in England.
Fotboll Direkt have spoken to the player ahead of his pending move to Derby County and asked about his feeling on a move to England.
“England is the country of dreams, I’ve followed English football all my life,” said the Swede.
However, Zetterström wouldn’t be pressed on whether he’s played his last game for his current club, ahead of his proposed move to the Rames.
“I know as little as you do, I have full focus here. That’s all I have to say,” explained Zetterström.
Yesterday we covered reports from Sweden that Derby County had got an agreement to sign the goalkeeper for £1.4m. The Swedish club’s sporting director Bosse Anderson also confirmed he was in talks with the Championship side.
He’s made 14 league appearances for his club this season and is contracted to Djurgårdens IF until June 2025. The Stockholm born keeper made his debut for Sweden last year.
