We’re now at the stage of the window when a little panic can creep in as clubs try to offload fringe players at the last minute.

Over the past week or so there’s been multiple claims about AC Milan’s Noah Okafor, and Tottenham and West Ham working to sign him.

Around ten days ago it was reported West Ham were willing to pay a €2m loan fee for Okafor, in a deal which would see them have a €25m purchase option in the coming summer market.

That claim then went quiet and it appears Milan and agents are working to find Okafor a new club, with West Ham and Tottenham continuing to be targeted as destinations.

Sunday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport is among those covering the situation and throwing West Ham and Tottenham back in. Both are reported to be in contact over the signing, although there’s every chance it’s the Premier League clubs being chased rather than them doing the chasing.

Okafor almost moved to RB Leipzig earlier in the window but there was an issue with his medical. That may be causing concern for other interested parties.

AC Milan had originally wanted a sale but Gazzetta state they’re now open to a loan.

The 24-year-old made 36 appearances last season, scoring six goals along the way. He added three assists and can play across all attacking positions.
