Beşiktaş are planning an effort in the January transfer window to take James McAttee from Nottingham Forest.

That’s according to Ajansspor. They report that the Nottingham Forest midfielder is a potential replacement for Rafa Silva.

They explain that Beşiktaş are planning to part ways with Silva next month. He’s had a very public falling out with the club, manager and management over the last few months.

The plan is to move him on, amid some other changes to the Turkish side’s squad. They want to find a player to replace him directly, and the focus is on young players. That’s where the Nottingham Forest man comes into the picture.

He fits the profile that they’re looking for and Beşiktaş have already started negotiations for him. It’s not mentioned if they’re targeting a loan deal or a permanent transfer. Turkish sides don’t tend to spend big in January, though, so it’s safe to assume they want a loan deal.

Whether Nottingham Forest will sanction that, remains to be seen. McAtee only joined in the summer transfer window in a €25m deal but is yet to score or assist in nine games. He’s only managed one game and 66 minutes under Sean Dyche so far.

That would suggest he’s not in the plans and Forest may be receptive to an offer if Beşiktaş make it in January.
