This week, reports from the Portuguese media were back on speaking of Arsenal’s pursuit for Ibrahima Bamba.
It was claimed the Gunners stand ‘on the front line’ to sign the versatile Vitória Guimarães defender, who can also play in front of the defence, with them trying to get the signing done this month.
With stories saying his agent had been in London, the representative even spoke to the press claiming his time in England had nothing to do with Arsenal.
It turns out this rumour is today commented by the Italian media, where Sport Italia comes up with more news on the pursuit.
It’s first claimed that Bamba is also drawing the interest from Serie A clubs, since the likes of Napoli, Bologna and Atlanta are all keeping an eye on him.
And when speaking of Arsenal, Sport Italia comes up to say that the Gunners are actually not interested in signing the player in January.
It’s said that the London side are ‘not moving’ for the player this month, as they’re ‘targeting’ him in view of a June transfer.
That may give a chance to other competitors, unless Edu Gaspar convinces Vitória to hold the player for a better deal in the summer.
