Since Gilberto Silva made a simple comment about Arsenal’s chances of signing Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, the Brazilian media got quite excited with it, having several stories about that potential move.
The Gunners’ interest, however, doesn’t seem strong at all. On Thursday, we had already covered a piece from R7 which said the Verdão are not aware about that chase. Now it’s time for journalist Jorge Nicola to also talk about the situation.
Following all the articles about Arsenal’s interest this week, the reporter spoke to people from Palmeiras and also sources close to Endrick.
From the sources at the Brazilian club, it was said there was ‘no contact’ from the Gunners for the move. Then from the player’s entourage, it was also claimed there’s no ‘declared interest’ from the London side so far.
Nicola highlights that Arsenal chief Edu Gaspar ‘has a good relationship’ with one of the youngster’s representatives. Still, the director has not shown any intention to sign the 16-year-old for now.
Endrick is followed by Europe’s biggest clubs and it’d be no surprise if Arsenal watch his potential as well. For now, it seems there are no movements for that transfer.
