Ahead of Fulham’s clash against Brentford tonight, ESPN Brasil aired an exclusive interview with Fulham star Andreas Pereira.
The midfielder, who joined the Craven Cottage side last summer, talked about how surprising it is that the club is having such a positive season in his first year there.
Pereira praised the job done by Marco Silva at Fulham, claiming it’s been ‘easy’ for the players to follow the manager’s instructions on the pitch.
“Speaking the truth, being well like this, in 6th place, was incredible,” Andreas Pereira told ESPN Brasil.
“The beginning of the season, what we are experiencing at the club. It’s a surreal thing. You know when the team turns the key and understands what it has to do? Marco explains and leaves everything chewed up for us. Then it is easy for us on the field. Good signings, it was a mixture of experience and players ready to eat grass (ready to do anything for the team).”
Pereira was also asked if he’s been having the best form of his career, and agrees with that, claiming the environment at Fulham has been helping him to show his quality.
“Yes. Today I can say that. I am feeling very confident, well at a club that is also doing well in the Premier League. That, mainly, is because of the coach and the group. They made me feel loved here.”
Andreas Pereira belonged to Manchester United, but was having a loan spell at Brazilian side Flamengo when Fulham got interested in him last year.
They then spent €9.5m on his signing and that investment seems to have been worth it, since the player has been a starter in Marco Silva’s side since the start of the season.
Since the move to the Craven Cottage, he has three goals and six assists in 29 appearances.
