Atalanta star Rasmus Højlund’s impressive displays in his debut season in Italy have drawn interest from Manchester United and a few other clubs.
Last weekend, Ekstra Bladet stated Erik ten Hag’s side have ‘concrete interest’ in the 20-year-old and he would love to make the switch to Old Trafford in the summer.
The forward had earlier confessed that he’s a “huge Manchester United fan” and this could help the Red Devils in any potential operation.
According to Calciomercato.it, the Denmark international is ‘bewitching’ clubs in Italy and across Europe after starring for his country in the past few days. Denmark scored five goals in two games and he scored all of them.
The Serie A clubs have set their sights on the player but the competition could increase dramatically in the coming months. With Manchester United having ‘concrete interest’ in Højlund, they would be in contention to secure his services.
Atalanta, down their end, are not ready to offer any discounts, especially at a time when his valuation is on the rise. If they receive a fee of ‘€50-60m immediately’, the Italian club would accept Højlund’s sale in the summer.
That makes it sound like they want a single payment, rather than it being spread over the period of the player’s contract.
It’s now down to Manchester United to meet Atalanta’s demands, if they wish to sign the Dane.
