On Wednesday Sky Sports published a story naming a few clubs who would be interested in the Everton striker Oumar Niasse.

According to the Sky sources, Sporting Lisbon, Besiktas, Hamburg and Fenerbahce would all be wanting the player, who didn’t get a squad number this summer and is very likely to be leaving the Goodison Park.

However, Record have disagreed with Sky. In their Thursday’s edition, the Portuguese newspaper mentions the English article, but says that according to their own information, Sporting have no interest in signing the striker.

The 26-year-old reportedly earns €4m net per season at Everton, which Record considers too high for Sporting to pay. The Portuguese side would be ready to invest strongly in a big name for their attack, but that would not be the case for Niasse.

Everton paid £15m to buy Niasse from Lokomotiv Moscow last winter, but the player failed to get much game time in his first months in Liverpool. He played for only 151 minutes and couldn’t score any goals.

It’s really not like Record to rule out interest, they love a transfer rumour. Therefore, you’d have to believe they have good reason to rubbish this.
