Over the course of the January transfer window, both Tottenham and Newcastle United were linked with a move for Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
The Brazilian is enjoying a great season with the Serie A side, and talk of a move to the Premier League was rife, with Spurs and the Magpies said to be at the door.
However, Atalanta stood firm, sent a clear message about their demands, and Calciomercato on Thursday explain they are standing by their words for the summer as well.
The outlet explain that Juventus are not only targeting Teun Koopmeiners, but also have their eye on Ederson, having already tried to sign him last year.
They are looking at doing so once again in the summer, but Atalanta are trying to put some barricades around the Brazilian, and wouldn’t want to sell him unless there is an offer they cannot refuse on the table.
While that sounds daunting, it shouldn’t be for Newcastle and Tottenham, because Calciomercato have learned the Italians are asking for €35m minimum to sit at the negotiating table.
That might be a lot for Juventus, who are already planning on throwing a lot of money at Atalanta for Koopmeiners, but shouldn’t be too much of an issue for Eddie Howe’s and Ange Postecoglou’s sides.
This is why Newcastle and Tottenham are now seen as being ‘in the front row in the race’ to acquire Ederson this summer.
