Real Madrid have come forward for Andrea Cambiaso, after Aston Villa tried to sign him in the summer window.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who mention Aston Villa’s failed attempt when covering the La Liga side’s interest in the Juventus player.
The 24-year-old can operate as both right-back and left-back and impressed for the Serie A side since the start of last season. He was rewarded with a new contract [until 2029] in May, two months after making his debut for Italy.
His impressive displays have seen Real Madrid show ‘real interest’ in the player desired by Aston Villa. Los Blancos’ priority right-back target is Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
They are keeping tabs on Cambiaso, probably because of his performances and versatility. Thiago Motta appreciates the fullback, so much so that he handed the captain’s armband to him against Lazio. As well as the manager, the Turin club are pleased with the player.
Unai Emery’s side tabled a €35m bid for the Italy international in the last window. The Old Lady are ‘happy to have rejected’ Aston Villa’s offer and are currently unfazed by Real Madrid’s possible approach.
Calciomercato say the Champions League winners’ interest in Cambiaso is ‘not scary’ for Juventus.
The defender is the present and the future of the Italian club and an exit doesn’t seem to be on the cards anytime soon.
