Back in January, TuttoJuve spoke of interest from Tottenham and Newcastle United in Brentford’s Michael Kayode. Sport Witness covered it extensively, with Manchester City also mentioned as a suitor.

This came right after Kayode’s agent clarified that a big move away from the Bees is very much possible. It can especially happen, if the Italian keeps impressing this season.

Kayode arrived at Brentford last January initially on loan from Fiorentina. Despite injury struggles, the move was made permanent and it has clearly paid off.

Now, a possible price tag has emerged for Tottenham and Newcastle United.

Kayode’s value has doubled

Calciomercato IT report that Italy manager Rino Gattuso is keeping a close eye on the right-back. A call-up to the Italian national team could be on the way for the youngster, who is also attracting attention from Inter Milan.

He is viewed as an option who can act as a replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who could leave in the summer. On top of that, Luis Henrique hasn’t convinced too many at the Nerazzurri. That would make Kayode a possible starter at the Serie A league leaders.

The outlet make it clear that Kayode’s value at Brentford has doubled. The Italian information is that he is valued at €30m by Brentford, although that feels on the low side.

Inter would want an initial loan deal for the 21-year-old, which appears similarly over optimistic.

Newcastle United and Tottenham could pay easily

It is easy to presume that the €30m valuation would be easy to meet for Tottenham and Newcastle United. Kayode has proved himself in the Premier League and this can possibly convince them into meeting the asking price too.

His contract at Brentford runs until 2030, and Brentford selling for €30m is unlikely, unless there’s some sort of clause. Italian clubs being unrealistically optimistic about such deals isn’t unusual, and the plan often ends when met with reality.
