Elia Caprile spent a year and a half at Leeds United as he was fighting to build himself a career in professional football.
The Italian didn’t play for the Whites’ senior team but did play 19 times for the club’s U19s team before leaving for Bari after a brief loan stint at third division Pro Patria.
The goalkeeper has had quite a rise since then and the ex-Leeds United man is impressing as Cagliari’s first-choice between the sticks. Calciomercato.it note that he is now attracting attention from Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri having been monitoring his progress for months, with Juventus and AC Milan also interested.
Cagliari value Caprile at €30m and he can be in line for a big move in the next summer transfer window. Leeds United sold the Italian for only €1.75m in summer 2022.
The Whites inserted a 25% sell-on clause in his Bari contract which saw Leeds United earn an extra €500k from the player’s transfer to Napoli in 2023.
Calciomercato now anticipate a €30m battle for the 24-year-old.
