In October, Il Messaggero reported on West Ham’s interest in Lazio’s Taty Castellanos.
They claimed the London side made an enquiry for the Argentine in the summer. The newspaper suggested Castellanos could depart the Italian side in January.
Today’s Il Messaggero takes a further look at the striker’s situation.
They claim that Lazio are awaiting an offer of €25-30m from West Ham or other suitors for Castellanos. To be clear, it’s stated: ‘Formello (Lazio’s HQ) is expecting a €25-30m offer from West Ham for Castellanos’
That is the amount Maurizio Sarri’s side need to avoid another transfer ban, as they continue to struggle financially. The 27-year-old wants to play for Argentina at the World Cup and due to his valuation, he is a key candidate to depart in January.
West Ham target ready to move

The report indicates that Castellanos will join ‘straight away’, if West Ham or other clubs in England move for him. There is an indication that La Liga clubs are also monitoring his situation.
The player isn’t keen on staying at Lazio. He isn’t a fan of Sarri’s playing style and that is why he would give the ‘green light’ to a January exit.
The Biancocelesti have identified Atletico Madrid’s Giacomo Raspadori as a replacement. The Italian has asked his agents to look for a new destination in Italy and this can also prove key to West Ham’s hopes of landing Castellanos.
