Dodi Lukebakio has been the subject of a lot of transfer interest this summer after a good loan season with Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The Watford owned player impressed enough on the pitch to attract other clubs, but teammates and coaches at Fortuna expressed their frustration with the 21 year old on multiple occasions.
Whilst he’s clearly very talented, and a hat-trick against Bayern Munich underlined that, there’s been worries about his attitude and perhaps that’s stopped big enough offers coming forward so far.
Bild now report that Hertha Berlin have decided to throw themselves into the potential signing. It’s claimed Hertha and Lukebakio have already agreed on a five year deal which won’t include an exit clause.
Now they need to agree with Watford.
According to the German newspaper an offer worth €20m, plus bonuses, has been made to the Premier League club.
That’s a record fee for Hertha.
Bild point out Watford have been asking for €25m, but they believe the €20m could be enough.
