There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Sheffield United will only sell Vinicius Souza if they can make a profit on the player.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield.
Hurriyet today report on the latest developments regarding the Istanbul side’s pursuit for the Sheffield United player, following reports earlier this week that transfer talks are taking place between the two clubs.
According to the Turkish newspaper, if Sheffield United are to sell Souza in this transfer window, then they want to make a profit on the €12.5m they paid for him last summer. Subsequently it seems Fenerbahce will have to make an offer in the region of €15m for the 25-year-old.
With the money set to come in with the sale of Ferdi Kadıoğlu to Brighton & Hove Albion this shouldn’t be an issue for the Super Lig giants, and Sheffield United will potentially ask for even more in reality.
Even though the Turkish window closes mid-September, they will need to finalise a deal in the coming days so that they can register Souza for the Europa League.
