West Ham United will need to find a way around a €100m release clause if they intend to sign striker Samu Omorodion from Porto this summer.

That’s according to O Jogo, who say the striker is protected by that massive clause and it’s the main ‘obstacle’ in West Ham and other club’s ways.

The newspaper covers the forward today and how he is seeking to score in his third straight game when Porto head to Casa Pia this evening.

That’s not an unprecedented run for him as he’s already achieved it twice this season, but it’s an important moment for him as he’s not been scoring regularly since December.

He’s had something of a slow start to the new year but that’s not put off interested parties and West Ham have continued to be linked in England. They’re likely to be hunting for a striker again this summer.

The big problem for them will be the €100m clause that Samu has in his current Porto contract, something O Jogo insist will be the ‘biggest obstacle’ to any deal happening.

Porto will push for that to be matched or at least use it as their base of negotiations before moving downwards and the suggestion from O Jogo is that he would not be easy or cheap to sign this summer as a result.
