Sean Dyche is pressuring Everton to get their deal for Sporting Clube de Portugal striker Chermiti signed and sealed as soon as possible.
That’s according to O Jogo and Record, who both provide the latest update on the matter today as Everton’s negotiations continue with the striker.
The former reports that the deal for Chermiti could be completed ‘in the next few hours’ after ‘advances in the operation’.
Sporting have already reached an agreement with Everton for the transfer to take place and it is the negotiation between the player and Toffees which is holding things up.
He rejected the first proposal put on the table by Everton, demanding a much higher salary than was offered. He is delighted at the chance to move to the Premier League but wants a salary more reflective of the role he’ll be playing at Everton.
He’s got the confidence of Sean Dyche, who ‘believes a lot’ in the player and ‘continues to pressure’ those above him to get the deal over the line quickly. From his point of view there should not be complications in signing a youngster from Portugal if there is an agreement with his club.
Record, meanwhile, again state that Chermiti has his ‘bags packed for England’ and even missed training yesterday in order to seal the move to Everton.
He visited the club’s academy to collect his belongings but did not train, an indication that an agreement is close for him to move to Goodison Park.
According to their information he has finalised the details of his contract and his father, who is also his agent, is now working to ‘smooth out the rough edges’ on his salary and the payment methods to Sporting.
The agreement between Everton and Sporting is done and Chermiti will be leaving, with a medical booked in the next couple of days.
That is, as long as those final salary details can be quickly ironed out.
