Last month, Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier joined Bayern Munich on a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain set conditions are fulfilled.
Ange Postecoglou didn’t rely upon the 30-year-old at Spurs this season, resulting in the latter moving to the Allianz Arena.
On Wednesday, Bild stated Dier is grateful to Thomas Tuchel for giving him opportunities. Later that day, Bayern confirmed the manager will step down at the end of this season.
According to SportBild, Tuchel’s exit could have an impact on the Tottenham man’s future at the club.
The England international was a ‘dream player’ for Tuchel, due to his ability to operate as a centre-back, right-back and a defensive midfielder. He’s made five appearances for the Bavarian club, all in the heart of the defence.
It’s claimed ‘doubts about him are already increasing’ and Dier’s future at Bayern remains open. Some within the German club have concerns over the Tottenham loanee’s lack of pace and regular game time.
If the versatile player continues to play for Bayern, the conditional obligation to buy will be activated and Spurs will receive €3m.
Bayern don’t seem keen about this as SportBild state Dier’s long-term future at the Allianz Arena is questionable.
