Having sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich earlier this month, Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a new striker. Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku has emerged as one of the options for the north London club.
At the weekend, Calciomercato stated Spurs have held preliminary contacts with the 30-year-old over a potential transfer.
TuttoMercatoWeb state Tottenham don’t lose sight of the Chelsea player who has been left out of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans this season.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have identified a few other striker targets and if they are unable to land one of them, the report states Daniel Levy could try to sign the former Everton man.
Therefore, TMW say the door to move to Tottenham ‘may officially open soon’ for the Belgium international. Spurs aren’t willing to buy him and should they decide to invest, it will be on a young striker.
Therefore, the report adds they will push to agree a deal with Chelsea to take Lukaku on a loan transfer with an option to buy. There’s no mention whether the Blues are willing to agree to these terms.
Apart from Tottenham, Juventus and a move to Saudi Arabia are other options currently handled by Lukaku.
