Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo was injured through the night as Chile played out a 0-0 draw with Colombia.

The news immediately made it back to the English media and it was reported Bravo had suffered a knee injury. However, that would be news to much of the Chilean press.

La Tercera newspaper report Bravo suffered a bruised right leg in the incident pictured above, and ADN Radio say it was a bruised right thigh. Both of which fit in with the coverage of the incident, therefore it sounds much more like a dead leg than a more worrying knee injury.

Further tests will have to be carried out but when Bravo spoke after the game to La Tercera, he didn’t even mention it. Given the way the goalkeeper is on international duty with Chile (he doesn’t half like the odd whine), then he’d have surely touched upon a serious issue.

It looks like Pep Guardiola doesn’t have a long term worry over his goalkeeper. Bravo is said to be doubtful for Chile’s match against Uruguay, but not ruled out.
