Nottingham Forest have an agreement for the signing of Mats Sels from Strasbourg, according to the freshest reports in the European media.

One of those confirming the deal is Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri. The reporter comes up on Twitter to say the transfer is ‘done’.

Meanwhile, we get to see Yanko Beeckman, relayed by Pieter-Jan Calcoen, claiming that Sels is ‘on his way to England’ to sign for Nottingham Forest.

The information brought by the Belgian media today was that Strasbourg were ready to accept a €7m bid from the Tricky Trees for the goalkeeper.

The Ligue 1 side’s biggest concern was about finding a replacement for him right on deadline day, and that no longer seems to be a problem.

Sels has some experience in the Premier League, as he belonged to Newcastle United between 2016 and 2018. He didn’t get many chances to shine there, though, and that’s why he joined Strasbourg.

Playing for the French side this season, he has 19 appearances, with 24 goals conceded and three clean sheets. We shall now see how he does at Nottingham Forest.
