Fluminense and Arsenal have an agreement for the transfer of Marquinhos, according to reports from Brazil.
Journalist Victor Lessa writes there’s a ‘done deal’ for the winger to move to the Tricolor on a loan spell.
It’s said the talks have been on for a few days, and for now, there’s no information on the potential ‘purchase option’.
Marquinhos spent the first part of the season on loan at Nantes, where he only had 150 minutes played in seven appearances. Then Arsenal called him back.
There had always been rumours about where he’d play next, as Mikel Arteta was never expected to give him many chances in the first team.
In the past few days, it was reported in Brazil that Corinthians engaged in talks with Arsenal, also to sign Marquinhos on a loan deal.
Now with Fluminense apparently winning the race, we shall soon see details of the loan’s length and the potential buying clause.
We’re also waiting for the biggest media outlets in Brazil to report the agreement as well, as none of them have done so so far.
