Crystal Palace are about to announce Oliver Glasner as their new manager, according to the latest reports from the German media.

Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg writes that the coach is ‘on the verge’ of taking charge of the Eagles.

The reporter makes it clear it’s ‘all done’, and Crystal Palace will announce his arrival ‘soon’.

Glasner last managed Eintracht Frankfurt, where he worked for two years and finished seventh in the last Bundesliga season. There he had a record of 39 wins, 29 draws and 29 defeats in 97 games.

The 49-year-old had previously worked as an assistant at RB Salzburg, having then managed FC Liefering, SV Ried, LASK and Wolfsburg, before taking the job at Frankfurt.

Glasner arrives at Crystal Palace to replace Roy Hodgson, who has been in charge of the club since March 2023, and is expected to bring Emanuel Pogatetz as his assistant manager.

Even though the Englishman had a contract with the club until the end of the season, his replacement doesn’t really come out as a surprise, as it was known the Eagles were looking for a younger option in the European market lately.

The Selhurst Park side currently stand in 15th in the Premier League.
