Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder is aware of Aston Villa’s interest in goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas and already looking for replacements.
That’s according to Sky journalist Patrick Berger. He reports that Gladbach are preparing for the 28-year-old to leave.
A report earlier this week stated that Aston Villa were keen on Nicolas. Berger pretty much repeats what that said on his own post on X.
According to him, Aston Villa have added Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas to their list. He’s a potential replacement for Emiliano Martinez, who could leave in the summer.
The Argentine was heavily linked with a move away this summer. The latest rumours have credited Tottenham with an interest, as Guglielmo Vicario could return to Italy.
Nicolas has already been linked with a move to the Premier League too. He turned down Brentford last year, because he is comfortable at Gladbach. But a summer move is seen as possible.
Rouven Schröder, Gladbach’s sporting director, is aware of the situation. He’s already looking for potential replacements. That would suggest he sees Aston Villa’s interest as serious, and
Nicolas could be on the move in the coming months.
