Sevilla striker Youssef En Nesyri has rejected a move to West Ham United again, despite them being willing to double his wages.
That’s according to Marca, who say that the forward ‘insists on staying’ at Sevilla this month despite a fresh effort from the Hammers.
They explain that West Ham have officially called Sevilla with an offer for the striker that has ‘caught the attention’ of the Spanish club’s managers.
Their offer is for a loan with an obligation to buy set at €20m plus variables, a ‘more than interesting’ proposal for a player who has been far from his previous level for more than a year despite impressing at the World Cup.
It’s a deal that would satisfy Sevilla but it ‘does not meet with the striker’s approval’ and that has put an end to any potential deal.
He rejected West Ham a year and a half ago when they were willing to pay more than €30m and Sevilla were also willing to do a deal.
He did not want to leave at that point and ‘he doesn’t want to go’ this time either, despite West Ham being willing to ‘more than double’ his current wage packet.
Convincing him on the move to the London Stadium does not seem to be possible, as he feels at home in Sevilla and thinks he has everything in Nervión.
That is frustrating for West Ham, who will need to look elsewhere, and Sevilla, who would be more than happy to sell to bring in much-needed money but have been stopped from doing so by the striker’s refusal.
