Earlier this evening we covered the latest from Barcelona on Yerry Mina’s situation.
Mundo Deportivo reported Manchester United made an offer for the player on Sunday, at an amount that was close to the bid Everton had already put in.
It looked like Barcelona were telling their local media about the offer, whether true or not, to put pressure on other interested clubs are push the price closer to the €40m they’re chancing for.
Now the other Barca leaning newspaper, Sport, has very similar claims, which would back that theory up.
Sport explain: ‘The footballer and his agents had reached a total agreement with Everton and the documents were already being written, but Manchester United has improved the economic offer to Barca, not the defender, and we will have to see how this whole film ends. Everton offers €32m fixed without variables to the club blaugrana and United would have put on the table some million more.’
Barcelona are continually pushing for more money, but Sport reports those close to Mina have made it clear the Colombian international will go for the transfer that he wants, rather than trying to please his current club.
Lyon, the other club in the Mina-Everton-United saga, don’t even get a mention.
