As you might have heard over the past few weeks, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are in talks about a deal for Jadon Sancho.
The England international hasn’t played for the Old Trafford side since falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, and the general consensus was that a move for him in January would be best for all.
Well, the Bundesliga’s side Hans-Joachim Watzke, their chairman of the board, has given up on trying to hide the talks with Manchester United, and admitted it all to Sky Germany, as relayed by Fussball Transfers.
He said: “We are in discussions with Manchester United. We want to bring him on loan. That’s no secret, but we are not yet at a stage where we can announce a result.”
Despite claims that a move had been agreed between the two clubs, it seems those were some way off the case, and there is still some work to be done for Sancho to leave Manchester United.
Were he to end up again at Dortmund, the 23-year-old would return to a very familiar environment where he previously excelled, scoring 50 goals and assisting another 64 in 137 appearances before his €85m transfer to Old Trafford.
