André-Frank Zambo Anguissa has had an instant impact at Napoli since he joined them on a loan deal from Fulham towards the end of the 2021 summer transfer window.

The midfielder enjoyed a good run of games before picking up an injury, which kept him out of action for three weeks between November and December.

He missed the Serie A side’s fixtures in January and the first week of February as the Fulham owned player was with Cameroon at the 2021 AFCON.

After returning to the Naples club, the 26-year-old picked up two injuries and the last one was against Udinese on Saturday. The former Marseille man’s latest setback has forced him to miss Cameroon’s upcoming matches in March.

Il Mattino state Napoli want Anguissa to make himself available when they face Atalanta after the international break.

The Italian club will have to deal with making his stay permanent after this season, after Luciano Spalletti’s side and Fulham agreed a €15m buying option.

However, the report explains Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli ‘will try to snatch a discount’ of €4m, ‘in light of this season’s’ physical problems endured by Anguissa.

There’s nothing to indicate whether Fulham are ready to offer any discount to Napoli to buy the Cameroon international.
