On Tuesday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Lazio are thinking about making an approach for Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham. It was also suggested the Championship side could sell him for €13m this summer.
The Serie A side looked at the 18-year-old in January, when they made contact with Sunderland.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who state Lazio have ‘reactivated contacts’ with the Black Cats over signing the attacking midfielder.
It’s further claimed the Biancocelesti are also having discussions with the England U20 international’s agent.
Régis Le Bris’ side have made it clear to the Italian club they will not offer a discount, and would need €12-13m plus bonuses to part ways with the youngster in this window.
Lazio sporting director Angelo Mariano Fabiani is thinking about the asking price requested by the English club.
The report states the Lazio official ‘will decide shortly’ whether or not to table an official bid of €12-13m to sign the player. They make no mention of whether the youngster would be open to joining the Italian club, if they were to table a formal proposal.
Bellingham scored seven goals and registered an assist from 47 games for Sunderland last season.
