Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has again been linked with a return to Greece, with a claim from Sdna.Gr that he remains a target for Panathinaikos.
Earlier in this transfer window there were reports in the Greek media that Panathinaikos are interested in loaning the 21 year old and are looking to give him much needed first team football at this stage of his career.
The Greek defender is unlikely to get many opportunities under Unai Emery next season and Sdna.Gr say Pana’s sporting director Nikos Dabizas wants to step in.
It’s also reported the Athens club want him to be ‘the leader’ in the team’s defence and are hoping they can land him on a loan deal.
However, their local rivals AEK are also said to be interested in the youngster and the club’s manager Miguel Cardoso wants to sign the Arsenal man.
The former Pas Giannina player was one of the last signings made by former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and it now seems he needs to make a decision about his future.
Mavropanos is under contract at Arsenal until June 2023.
