According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are showing interest in Nottingham Forest’s Ibrahim Sangare and Crystal Palace’s Jefferson Lerma.
The Turkish side have made it one of their priorities to bring in a defensive midfielder this summer and are now looking at alternatives with their number one target Pierre-Emile Højbjerg on the verge of joining Marseille from Tottenham.
Dirilis Postasi today reports Jose Mourinho is still keen to bring in a central midfielder in the coming weeks and Sangare and Lerma are options for him.
It’s claimed Fenerbahce sporting director Mario Branco will travel to England this week and hold talks with the Forest and Palace players.
Branco will also reportedly have negotiations with the two Premier League clubs and will then report back to the Fenerbahce management.
Lerma has previously been linked with a move Istanbul following recent claims Fener were in talks to sign him. However, the 29-year-old spoke to the Colombian media on Friday and played down these rumours, pointing out he has a long Crystal Palace contract and hasn’t heard a thing about a move to Turkey.
