Last month, multiple reports coming out of the German press stated Watford have plans to appoint Ben Manga as their new director of football.
Earlier this week, Sport1 explained Eintracht Frankfurt could allow the 48-year-old to leave even though he has a contract until 2026.
On Wednesday, the Bundesliga side confirmed they have reached an agreement with Manga to part ways with immediate effect.
Following his exit, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to Twitter to state the 48-year-old will ‘soon’ become Watford’s new sporting director.
This forced Manga to look for a way out for a ‘long time’ and he has been waiting for the ‘right offer’. His search would have come to an end after Watford came forward.
Barring anything unforeseen, it’s claimed that Manga will sign a contract with the Hornets ‘next week’ to become their new sporting director.
Following Manga’s exit, Kicker states ‘more than half a dozen’ scouts will leave Eintracht Frankfurt. It’s not clear whether these officials will follow Manga to Watford.
