Palermo sporting director Nicola Salerno has told the Italian media they will be open to selling Robin Quaison for the right offer. The Swede will be out of contract in the summer, and has been linked with a number of clubs, including Birmingham City.
Live Sicilia Sport have reported on comments Salerno made in a press conference when presenting new Palermo coach Diego Lopez. The former Leeds United chief confirmed he’s had requests from other clubs with regards to Quaison, but as yet nothing has been agreed.
Due to his contract situation Salerno revealed they would have to evaluate any offers which came in before deadline day, but for now the midfielder remains a Palermo player.
“There have been some requests for him, but so far nothing has come off. If we were to get offers in the last days we will evaluate these carefully, we can expect to sell so not to lose him out of contract, but whilst he plays with us we want him to stay here,” said Salerno on the Birmingham City target.
We recently covered claims from Italy that Birmingham City had made an offer to Quaison to join them in the summer. Birmingham City side are now able to speak to the Palermo star about a pre-contract agreement.
However, the club face competition from Sampdoria and AS Roma to land the player.
