With Inter Milan chief Piero Ausilio seen in London, it didn’t take long until many claims in Italy said the official could be working on Romelu Lukaku’s comeback from Chelsea.
It’s no secret the player is interested in returning to the Nerazzurri, and even though there are obvious difficulties in affording the move, the Serie A club are believed to be trying to find a solution.
However, it turns out that according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Ausilio’s visit to the English capital has nothing to do with Lukaku.
The journalist writes that the director went to London to take part in ‘various market events organised with clubs and agents’, and says there’s no meeting with Chelsea on his agenda.
It’s added that Lukaku is following his situation ‘personally’, along with Chelsea’s owner Todd Boehly. However, there are no contacts between the Blues and Inter Milan yet.
On Friday morning, the rumours about the Belgian striker were fuelled by the Italian media, with newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming the Nerazzurri would like to make a ‘perfect trident’ with Paulo Dybala, Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.
