Earlier on Tuesday, we covered an article in Corriere dello Sport revealing how far along the talks between Leeds United and AS Roma were for Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen.

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio has taken to his website to provide a further update on the situation, and has provided a few more details regarding the deals being discussed.

Regarding the Spaniard, everyone is in agreement that he will return to AS Roma on loan from Leeds for the whole season, but ‘new contacts’ between Tiago Pinto and the Elland Road side ‘are expected today’.

Llorente’s move to Italy would include ‘a obligation to buy upon reaching a certain number of appearances’, and if it were triggered, it would cost the Serie A side ‘around €5-6m’.

As for the Danish right-back, the two clubs are ‘working on a dry loan’, meaning a simple temporary spell with the player returning to Leeds at the end of the season no matter what, or ‘at most with an option to buy’.

As things stand, Di Marzio explains the two clubs are ‘moving towards the exclusion of an obligation to buy’, mostly because he was only bought last year for €15m.

This feels like Roma wanting to avoid committing to a deal on a player that might not work out for them, which is a very different scenario to Llorente, who already has six months with José Mourinho under his belt in Italy.
