Over the past few weeks, Leicester City and AS Roma have been battling to sign Juventus’ Matias Soulé. The winger returned to the Serie A side after a loan spell at Frosinone, and they are ready to sell him this summer.
Last Wednesday, we covered claims from Italy which stated the Foxes could make a new bid of €30m plus €5m bonuses.
According to Quotidiano Sportivo, Leicester have taken further steps in their pursuit of the 21-year-old.
The Turin club are requesting €35m, but are willing to let the player leave if there’s an offer of €30m plus bonuses.
It’s claimed this proposal has arrived from Steve Cooper’s side, who offer €30m plus €5m bonuses for the Argentina U21 international. Juventus technical director Cristiano Giuntoli would have given the ‘green light’ to the English club.
Soulé needs to be convinced as he wants to join Roma, in order to continue in Italy. He’s keen to play under Daniele De Rossi, but the Giallorossi aren’t willing to offer what the Premier League side have proposed so far.
To sum it up, the player wants Roma, while Leicester ‘offer more’ money than De Rossi’s side. This has made it difficult for Juventus to sanction his sale.
