Juventus have finalised a deal with Romelu Lukaku over a move this summer, but still need to find an agreement with Chelsea.
That’s according to La Stampa, relayed by FC Inter News, who say a ‘new blitz’ is on the way from the Italian giants to secure a deal for the Belgian.
Lukaku had appeared set for a return to Inter Milan on a permanent basis this summer, with the Champions League finalists sanctioning a move and ready to pay what Chelsea wanted.
However, that move is now off the cards after they reacted angrily to his decision to talk to other Italian clubs, namely Juventus.
He’s now been left hoping they can work out their finances to get a deal over the line and La Stampa pick up that thread today.
They explain that Lukaku remains among the ‘main objectives’ for this transfer window, despite their plans having been changed thanks to Juventus being kicked out of Europe for a year.
Director of Football Cristiano Giuntoli is now planning a ‘London Blitz’ upon his return from the United States to get things moving, having already secured a deal on the player side of things.
Everything is done in terms of a contract but not with Chelsea, whose yes to a deal is currently missing and has not been secured.
A further issue is that Juventus need to open up space in their squad and their budget, but it seems they feel confident of doing so and Giuntoli is planning a trip to London to put an end to the Lukaku saga definitively.
