Ibiza sporting director Miguel Ángel Gómez has labelled Leeds United “a friendly club” despite a disagreement with them over loanee Mateusz Bogusz in January.
Bogusz has been on loan with the Spanish side since the summer, when he extended his stay with them from last season when his initial loan deal was scuppered by a serious injury.
He has made 16 appearances in LaLiga 2 this season but featured in just 34% of the available minutes and only been in the starting XI 27% of the time.
That had led to suggestions he could return to Leeds and potentially be sent elsewhere, either on loan or in a permanent exit.
He ended up staying with the Spanish club but a report on deadline day made it clear that was very nearly not the case as Bogusz had received an offer from LAFC to join them.
It was then reported earlier this week that the midfielder had wanted to make the switch but it was blocked by Ibiza, who refused to terminate his loan deal, much to the annoyance of the Leeds man.
Gómez has now commented on the situation, insisting there is no ill-feeling with those in charge at Elland Road despite something of a disagreement over the player.
“(Leeds are) a friendly club,” AS report him saying.
“(Bogusz) understood the situation. They understood the position and how important he (the player) is to us.”
