Over the past season or so, we have seen a number of claims regarding Liverpool and an interest in Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu.
The young left-back has reportedly been long-followed by the Reds, who know they will have to add some competition to Andrew Robertson in the long-term, and one day replace him.
Konstantinos Tsimikas is not that man, but Dorgu could well be, which is why Liverpool, as recalled by Calciomercato.com, are interested in him.
There is a growing belief the 19-year-old will leave Lecce in the near future, after the Anfield side ‘where the first to enquire about the costs and margins of a negotiation’.
Atlético Madrid soon followed suit and sent scouts to watch the left-back, who is quickly becoming a potential cash cow for the Serie A side.
In fact, Pantaleo Corvino, their director, is ‘already rubbing his hands together’, as they reckon his valuation is ‘over €20m’.
For now, as pointed above, Calciomercato explain the interest has ‘only come from abroad’, but those in the Italian market could also come forward, and Milan ‘will probably move’ for a left-back to back up Théo Hernandez.
However, the website do point out that, as things stand, Milan are ‘not interested’ in Dorgu, who has previously stated in the past he is a fan of Chelsea, who are also after him.
