Chelsea are probably the English club who have been most linked with Mauro Icardi over recent windows.

The Inter Milan striker never seems to be too far away from another renewal drama, so with Chelsea continually looking for a striker, a move to Stamford Bridge has repeatedly popped up as a possibility.

Inter are looking to renew Icardi’s contract again, but talks have now been put off until the summer. Corriere dello Sport state that whilst the priority is now to stay at Inter, that could change if a club it’s ‘difficult to say no’ to comes in with an offer.

The Italian newspaper believe the clubs in that category include Chelsea.

Icardi has proven at Inter that he can be a big plus on the pitch, but he’s also proven that he brings a lot of drama off it.

Represented by his wife Wanda Icardi, there’s every chance the bright lights of London could be a temptation.

But right now Icardi is top dog at Inter and the club’s captain (the product of a previous renewal drama), and seems to quite like that status. Whether he’d give it all up for a gamble at Chelsea could be the key issue.
