Jorge Mendes appears to be giving up on selling Manchester City players to Barcelona, with him now focused on getting Joao Félix to the Camp Nou instead.
That’s according to Sport, who cover the latter today and how Mendes is working hard to make a deal happen.
The newspaper explains that Mendes has offered the forward, who is desperate to leave Atlético Madrid this summer, to Barcelona.
All the conditions for the transfer are there, although Atlético’s demand for a loan fee to be paid is something of a stumbling block as Barcelona don’t want to pay.
That is something Mendes is working on with them, utilising his relationship with the club’s hierarchy, which is well established as he has several clients at the club at present.
His focus is all on getting the Félix deal over the line, so much so that his efforts to get Manchester City players to the club have seemingly been abandoned.
According to Sport, Mendes knows that it would be ‘very, very difficult’ for Joao Cancelo to arrive at the Camp Nou while a deal for Bernardo Silva ‘is impossible’.
Thus he’s not interested in the Manchester City duo anymore and instead, all efforts are on Félix as he desperately tries to get one of his big clients to Barcelona this summer.
