Luton Town are now in the picture to sign FC Midtjylland star Emiliano Martínez in the summer window.
The defensive midfielder initially joined the Danish club on loan from Red Bull Bragantino last summer, before his stay was made permanent last November, when he signed a contract until 2027.
Luton Town achieved promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, and BT in Denmark now state they have been courting the 23-year-old for a while.
It’s said Rob Edwards’s side are keen to take the player, so much so that ‘there has been a dialogue between the parties about a possible transfer’ of the Uruguay international.
Earlier this month, claims from Uruguay had stated Everton and West Ham United are also in the race to sign Martínez. BT relay this and then add Luton Town have now been added to his suitors list.
After an impressive debut season, the report says the South American could change clubs in this window and Midtjylland would be in for a big sale.
Martínez made 33 appearances for the Danish club last season.
