Tottenham Hotspur are in the picture to sign Stade de Reims’ Amir Richardson, according to Foot Mercato.
Last season, the midfielder clocked in 1,350 minutes from 28 league games, including 14 starts. He’s currently part of the Morocco squad at the Olympics and his performances in Paris have seen Tottenham take notice.
The 22-year-old’s name has been added to the Premier League side’s target list. He’s made four appearances for his country at the Olympics. Morocco have made it to the semi-finals and will face Spain on Monday.
It’s claimed Spurs have been closely following Richardson’s recent displays for his country, and will continue to watch him today.
If the player impresses, that could ‘push Tottenham to take action’ to sign him this summer. The midfielder has a deal that lasts until 2027, and there’s no mention if the Ligue 1 side are willing to sell him in this window.
On July 3rd, L’Equipe stated Everton and Leicester City have shown interest in Richardson, but the Premier League duo were refusing to meet the €10m fee requested by Reims.
If Reims are still requesting €10m for Richardson, the fee would certainly be affordable for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
